I gotta say, when I'm drawing these pages, I'm sitting there and I think of all these funny things I want to tell you guys in the comment once I upload the page. Then without fail as soon as I get to this point where I have the upload form going and I put the cursor in the comment box, I can't remember anything at all.
So um, here's what I can pull out of my ass. Proper planning would have allowed me to fit a full weathervane in the first panel, right now you can only see the stickabob that points North.
In other news, the 5 pages that follow are all colored and scanned! All I have to do is edit them. And to make up for the fact that the past two updates have been quite late, and because I can't bear to wait three weeks for these comics to trickle out, I'm going to be updating every other day so I can get this chapter over with. So come check back Sunday for the next thrilling episode in our train station saga.
Because you guys are my only friends, I am going to share some personal achievement with you. I've been jogging about once a week for a month or two now- when I started I could barely make it three houses up the street before I had to slow down to a walk. Today I made it to roughly a half mile before I had to slow down ;; I'm excited! I'm not looking to be a marathon runner or anything or else I'd spend way more time on that and less time dicking around on the internet working diligently on this comic. I'm just really looking forward to the day when I can go up a few flights of stairs without getting winded and comfortably take hikes with my loved ones.
ONE FINAL NOTE and then I'll vanish- I've seen a bit of an uptick in my readership this past week! My stats don't tell me where anybody's from, only how many of y'all there are and how many pages total have been viewed. If any new readers happen to read this comment, care to share where you're coming from (internet-wise, like where you're referred from, although geographically might be a cool conversation too)? Let's be friends so I can continue to bombard you with my physical fitness accomplishments.
If, by some chance, I find myself stationed in New Jersey after my tour in Alaska is up, I'll go running with you sometime.
And Aggie, you have to catch Clarabelle when she's drinking the sherry. :/
@The_Hankerchief: Hell yes! Hopefully by then I'll be fit enough to be able to jog alongside someone while sustaining a conversation. That would be ideal!
I guess I count as a new reader! I just saw you around on the SJ forums and thought your art style was charming. :) Not a terribly interesting story, I'm afraid.
@Spooks: Awww, shucks, thanks! Hope you'll enjoy it :D
It was a bit funny reading this page - right now I think that Aggie is taking a big risk but might win but back when I was her age I would definitely be on Cal's side.
And haha, I'm the same! Pencilling the page: oooh, I know the funniest thing to put in the comment section! Uploading the page days later: ...well, damn.
@Oly-RRR: Yeah it's kind of a weirdly open-ended situation where who you agree on depends on where you are in life, I think!
Glad to hear I'm not the only one!! I have a hi-larious comment I'm trying to hang onto for an upcoming page, I might write it down on a post-it and sticky it on the paper so it doesn't get forgotten :P
@mitchellbravo: That's a good idea! Sometimes I write these things in my script file or under the thumbnails but that's usually when it's a funny one-liner, not a blurb with backstory or something like that.
@Oly-RRR: That's a good idea too!
I've noticed you on the forums for a long time, but decided to check out some comics people from Smackjeeves Secret Santa 2014.
I may not comment in the forums much, but I'm there often.
@Squirreltastic-Blue: I'm glad you came to join me! And the Secret Santa is a great place to find new comics to follow.
