Hoping Cal doesn't look unrecognizable with her bangs swept to one side like that. I wanted to change things up for this scene.

I've been using markers since 2009 and finally just now learned how to do a blend effect. The top two closeups best display my newfound zeal to implement this, with promotional images for two long-awaited sequels to a Roald Dahl classic, "Leon and the Giant Plum" and "Clarabelle and the Giant Mango." I aim to improve this skill over time, so hope you enjoy my training wheels for now.

Next update will come tomorrow! Hang tight chitlins

on second readthrough-- what's the fountain supposed to be? a spouting duck? (this is amusing me far more than it probably should.)

Reply mitchellbravo, July 1st, 2014, 9:52 am

@Bluezilla: Okay I read your comment too fast and read "duck" as "dick" and was like hmmmm that would be a pretty bold statement for a fountain even in modern times XD Yeah it was supposed to be some sort of goosy-duck-swan-bird thing, though it ended up never actually appearing in frame again until the last page of the scene where it was only vaguely rendered :p

@mitchellbravo: now *there's* an...uhhh...exciting fountain idea. I'm sure there's one in existence...somewhere.

My second guess would have been a seal? It just kinda amused me with its vagueness.

@Bluezilla: I will be sure to put a seal on the next statuey thing I draw. Lmao and I think there's some kind of sex-themed amusement park in like Japan or Australia, I'm sure they have such a fountain.

I'm glad they got a chance to work things out but I keep hearing menacing music that plays in westerns when two cowboys are about to grab guns.

As for penises and fountains, there's http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manneken_Pis but I'm sure we can do better than that... >:D

@Oly-RRR: LOL!

I forgot about those statues!!! You reminded me, a few years ago we'd driven out to visit my Nana and on the way back down her street afterward, I was just glancing at the neighbor's homes, most of which have one of those big picture windows in the front of the living room. One of the houses HAD ONE OF THOSE in the big picture window, and I was staring at it and about to remark upon it to my sister when IT MOVED AWAY. IT WAS A REAL KID JUST PEEING IN THE WINDOW.

The plum and the mango just might make a nice fruit salad. As a squirrel, a mixture of any fruit sounds pretty outstanding to me!
