I will now communicate my level of appreciation for this page, by way of Led Zeppelin:
"All of my love, all of my love, all of my love, to you (and this page)"
Seriously, I love how well done these last few pages have been. That's how you pull off a love-that-cannot-be scene with class. Or style, whatever you want to call it. The writing is excellent, and so is the art. Bravo, Mitchell, bravo.
(Please excuse that pun at the end)
@The_Hankerchief: Thanks so much Hankly bear!!!! I really appreciate it :D
and hahahahaha my handle is always so self-congratulatory.
Clarabelle tries to be a jew.
@Bluezilla: By using the only two yiddish words she knows XD
This is adorable and funny and smart on Cal's part!
And it kind of reminded me how when I was a teenager I had this phase where I read a lot about Israel and Jewish customs and life in different countries (I don't even remember what caused it, my stepdad being partly Jewish or all those news about conflicts in Israel on telly or what) and I remember that feeling of "dang, such a cool culture... that I can never be a part of... but can learn about!" Maybe I should be thankful my teen years were in the pre-tumblr times. XD
@Oly-RRR: My boyfriend's Jewish, and in my last semester of college I took a class on Modern Judaism. I really enjoyed a lot of it and at several points was considering converting but for a number of reasons I decided not to :) I do still think the culture is really interesting and I do look forward to when (barring sad circumstances) we're married and those traditions become part of my life as well. I just got to celebrate Passover for the first time this year, actually :D Oh god, but yeah, I'm glad I missed the "trans-ethnic" blossom as well... I'd rather just learn about other cultures to gain deeper understanding and respect than have to insist I must genetically BELONG TO THAT CULTURE and place the burden of understanding and respect on everyone else :P
@mitchellbravo: Awww! :D
And yeah, exactly - we're allowed to be interested in something and understand and respect it without being a part of it! Also that was a great way of putting it - respecting and understanding instead of placing the burden of it on everyone else!
@Oly-RRR: I'm glad that it made sense, I wans't sure about it as I was typing it :P
I wish I was a secret Jew too. ;-;
@blackmoongirl2424: Late to respond to this.... but this comment made me smile big time :D :D :D
