The Human Condition by Jennifer Million and Heather Humiston

So, obviously what pulled me to the comic in the beginning was the old-timey looking banner, and luckily the banner was not misrepresentative of the story which appears to be taking place sometime toward the end of the 19th century. Million & Humiston just wrapped up their prologue chapter at 20 pages, so now is a great time to jump in and get comfortable before the comic resumes. There's definitely a spooky sci-fi element going on and the comic is appropriately atmospheric and looks like it would smell like an old book. Something scientifically sinister is going on (as far as I can gather, it seems there are experiments being done on "participants" who are likely less than willing), and the mystery therein will unfold further as the story progresses. Clean lines contain the spacious art of the foreground, and the backgrounds feature period-appropriate furniture and wallpapering in a way that makes me say "oooh ahhh." I'm looking forward to finding out what direction the story will go in once Million & Humiston begin chapter 1. _________________________________________________________________________

Good news! I'm almost done with my library books which means soon I will be able to take out RESEARCH TYPE BOOKS I will need in order to work on the next chapter. Not that that's coming up any time particularly soon, based on my glacial pace, but it's never too early to begin preparing for suchtype things.

Hope to see you all again tomorrow!

It's the little boy from Bad Grandpa, isn't it? O.o

Aw Joseph... :c

I know there's a handful of Springfields in the US but in my headcanon they are all like the one the Simpsons live in and this makes it even more funny. In a teehee-poor-Joseph-teeheehee kind of way :D

Joseph's expressions here are great! He and Quinton could compete at INTENSE DISAPPROVING STARES and that's a competition where Miss Fluffy Tu-Tu wouldn't have a cat's chance in hell! XD One needs eyebrows one can bench press with for that kind of stuff.

Laughed out loud.

@The_Hankerchief: LOL, I was going for Honey Boo Boo but I think your interpretation is equally if not more valid XD

@Oly-RRR: Hahahahaha I pictured it that way too!! Like literally pictured her emerging from the Simpsons' house and a bus picking her up and taking her to this theater XP

Ahahahahaha and nooowwww I am picturing Joseph and Quinton having a thumb war, but with eyebrows. And weird squeaky sound effects happening.

@Bluezilla: I had a great time drawing it, so I'm extra glad to hear others found it amusing as well XD

@mitchellbravo: Pff hahaha yes! Oh man, this makes certain expressions on the page I'm working on even more funny!

@mraab: Ahahahaha thank you! I never knew quite where my fellas fell on the scale of iconic-realistic, (and whatever that third spectrum that McCloud included- I'm too lazy to reach two feet over and find it in the book XD ) I really appreciate that, facial expressions are one thing I feel fairly competent about so it pleases me to hear that other people find them effective :D

Springfield? Yeah, what state?

@Squirreltastic-Blue: All of them. All of the Springfield.
