I'm a bit of a dweeb, today's page takes its title from a lyric from this Michelle Branch song. Again, I feel it's appropriate to the situation, probably a bit too on-the-nose, but it's a pop song so I guess it kind of has to be. :)
Well, that's it for these two. I'm far too bashful to depict anything explicit, now and probably ever, so conjure up in your imagination the most satisfactorily innocuous or naughty activity you would prefer. The tree can be symbolic if you want it to be. :P
The next scene on the scene train is even shorter at only two pages. That one will likely take longer as I'm going to need to do more textures with it, I kind of got off easy with this scene with the painty technique with the markers. The next scene will be pleasing to readers who miss Eddie and/or Cecilia.
Hopefully this isn't my last update before the new year, as some of you may know I'm a big goober and last year did a big wrap-up year end post- not sure if I did one the year prior, but I rather liked doing that so we will see. We fall woefully short of my goal of completing chapter six and beginning chapter seven this year, but all things considered I think that's alright. I can elaborate more in the year-end post.
Until then, I truly appreciate all of your readership, and I hope to see you all again. Thank you for stopping by to rest a while. :)
It's a treesome. *is boo'd off the comment section*
I think this page turned out great, I actually thought of Bill Watterson when I saw the tree and the sunset and the hills! And I love the bubble tail SEDUCTIVELY WRAPPING ITSELF ROUND THE TREE! I remember a tutorial or maybe a forum conversation on the length of bubble tails and I've been thinking of it regarding the first page of Chapter 2 (you'll know it when you'll see it) and I'm still convinced that sometimes long bubble tails make perfect sense just from the narrative side.
Eddie, Cecilia and nostalgic wrap-up post all sound good! Looking forward to it! :D
Ooooooooooh...I love the whirly word balloon stem hehe
@Oly-RRR: I DIDN'T EVEN THINK OF THAT PUN OMG LOL
I'm looking forward to your bubble tails!!! :D I definitely agree- I mean in general you want to keep things fairly subtle (IMO anyway) but sometimes an idea can be conveyed really well visually with the tail. Like, you normally don't need to bring the end of the tail all the way to the person's mouth, but that would do a great job to convey that someone was whispering very quietly, or breathing grossly or something, you know??
@TheSilverLeague: Thank you so much!! :D It was kind of a last minute style choice and then I just ran with it, lol.
@mitchellbravo: Yup, it depends on the particular situation and it's fun to figure these things out! :D
I really don't like crossing multiple bubble tails though. Unless it's I dunno, characters trying to interrupt each other but still, it's hard to do it so it's not a visually distracting "X MARKS THE SPOT" kind of look.
Step one: Acquire airplane.
EDIT: Oh, wait? This is it? Guess I'll have to wait for an update like everyone else now!
@Squirreltastic-Blue: LOL. Well welcome aboard!!!
