I can like, hear the Linkin Park playing in panel 2.

For the curious, Blythe is the brunette, and 'Rietta is the blonde.

That wraps up this scene. Next scene features Joseph (semi-shirtless, if that'll sell you on it at all). And his dad (fully dressed, if that was a concern).

A few notes-
You'll see I spruced up the site a bit. All the fan arts I had received over the course of the last chapter are now in their respective galleries (though the gallery itself probably needs some updating). (oh man no it definitely does, it's been three years since I put anything there, wtf).

You'll also notice I added a donate button above my comments but below the comic. If you have some silver to drop in my tambourine, I'd definitely appreciate it. Any money coming in that way will go to buying art supplies (markers, pen ink/nibs, paper) which makes it slightly easier for me to make the comic from a financial standpoint. Don't worry, I won't spend it on booze.

If you want to support Loud Era but don't want to donate like that, there's two other ways you may be able to help-
1. If you run adblock, it helps a lot if you disable it for my site (and other artists you want to support).
I only have the one banner ad at the top of the page and I have yet to see anything really gross appear there (though please contact me if you do see something really untoward going on). This won't cost you anything, but it helps to boost the advertising value of the site so I can make a few cents, and that adds up over the months.

2. If you are also a creator and also use Project Wonderful for advertising, buy adspace on my site! My site is pretty sedate traffic-wise, so I can't promise you tons of clicks, but it may be worth the gamble for what probably works out to, maximum I've ever seen on my own ads, a few cents, and typically more like a fraction of a cent or nothing at all.

So that's out of the way, next short order of business-

Work's started up again for the fall, and like I did last semester, I'm also taking two grad classes. *Unlike* last semester, I don't currently feel like the world is about to collapse on my ribcage, so I'll *probably* be in better spirits for a while. Things as yet are going very well as regards to work/classes themselves.

There's a lot I'm looking forward to about this chapter. I'm finally going to get to introduce a lot of characters who've been sitting in my head for a while, and of course just shoving some of the gang out of their comfort zones is cathartic in its own right.

It is going to be a VERY long chapter. At this point it is absolutely and no questions asked going to be longer than the prom chapter, currently seeming to clock in around twice that length. I KNOW. I KNOW. SO FUCKING GROSS. But if we have fun and like it then that's the important part. They don't call me The Pace-Maker for nothing. Heck, they don't even call me The Pace-Maker.

To those finding trouble hanging on with my erratic update schedule:
1. Here's the RSS feed
2. If you're a Smack Jeeves user and haven't yet favorited the comic, here's a link to do so
3. You can also follow me/the comic on el Twitterioso

Hope to see you all soon!

In which Marie suddenly has something in common with Nutter. :P

The third panel AND MARIE'S FACE THERE my favourite. And again, that sort of one sided dialogue is the best, it happens too often irl and not enough in fiction.

ALSO SIX THIRTY IS A VERY WRONG TIME TO GET UP SERIOUS THIS IS NO TIME TO GET UP D:

I'm serious. You are the background queen.

I love teens being deadly earnest, haha oh man...

Oh yeah, I've been advertising my comic using PW from time to time, I'll give your adspace a whirl next time I do :)

Aww, cheer up Marie! There's Bidaydas to be had!

Reply mitchellbravo, September 14th, 2015, 3:21 pm

@Oly-RRR: I'm imagining the two fo them meeting and I feel like it would be an unproductive encounter XD

Aaaahhh thanks!! I liked drawing that panel a lot, I'm usually pretty crummy at composition regarding "flow" but that one seemed pretty natural and her expression came out exactly as I wanted it :P I agree re: the one sided dialogue, even though marie usually has a snappy or facetious answer for everything I feel like this is one of those situations where she feels so bummed out she can't even be arsed to bother being witty or irreverent, you know?

Ew no I agree that alone is making me feel the most pity for Marie in this whole scenario :p

@Squirreltastic-Blue: Thank you!!! :D

@Dranxis: Lmao right??? And that'd be awesome! I'm glad I was able to give What Nonsense another readthrough last month. Not like I ever lost interest in the story but it just revved back up the intrigue to see all the pieces put in place again, especially with the conversation everyone was having with Martha just now.

@General.Hankins: All types of bidaydas! Mashed bidaydas, scalloped bidaydas, boiled bidaydas...
And thanks so much for your donation by the way, that really touched my heart and it's right at a great time too since I need to get some new nibs and paper soon :D

Reply Oly-RRR, September 14th, 2015, 4:27 pm

@mitchellbravo: Yup, pretty much! XD

Yeah, totally, she's so crushed by it all... I think another thing making it sad for me is that I don't remember Marie referring to this more than once (or at all) during the previous chapter and she was having all that fun (that didn't always go perfectly, like the prom chapter) while this big change was nearing and looming and and not talking this though even with her friends and acting like it's not about to happen is so Marie, she couldn't be more unprepared. Unless of course she really didn't know until last minute, I suspect Oval's broken arm might play a big role in why Marie is there.

AT THIS RATE I WILL SOON HAVE TO RE-READ LOUD ERA LOOKING FOR CLUES OF WHAT'S TO COME :O

@Oly-RRR: I don't want to give away too much but you are definitely on the money with much of your mentionings!!! :D :D :D
