This page was fun to sketch and then annoying to ink and color. :/ Not really pleased with it now but it's nitpicking stuff I would have to take too much time to redo.

***NEXT UPDATE JUNE 22!!!!***

Things have been busy for me so I haven't been able to get the scene that follows this one worked on in like over a week now. It's frustrating but at least I have this scene going. There are 2 more pages in this scene.

THE FEELS

You always write these situations where it's hard to side ENTIRELY with either character and that's great! On one hand I feel bad for Joseph and he's right when it comes to Cecilia having to break the status quo sooner of later (We Need To Talk About Joseph, lol) buuut on the other hand it's not a thing Cecilia should be doing alone FOR the sake of Joseph. Dude, if you really want her to get out of there, offer her to move in with you or something. :|

Joseph's backdrop in the last panel makes me think of grandpa's kitchen for some reason - I like how mundane backgrounds are here, makes me thing of all the uncomfortable phone conversation where your brain goes "I can't believe this" but you're looking around and see the same old stuff you see every day, and that makes it feel even weirder. Dunno if I'm describing it well.

Something about Cecilia here made me think she could be played by Keeley Hawes, y'know, in the BBC adaptation of Loud Era :B

How often do you need to research the props? I noticed they're using two different models of phones!

Bravo, Mitchellbravo!

Good layout here! With the claustrophobic series of close-ups as they go back and forth, then the expansive open panel at the end for silence...

@Oly-RRR: MREEHHHH THAAANKS <3 <3 :D :D Yess it's one of those situations where neither party is doing really *all* they possibly could, but it's the culmination of so many years of betrayals/frustrations that neither party is able to really "give it a go" in good faith anymore :( :(

That's so cool!! I don't really know where I'm picturing this particular dining room to be but it's like, idk it must be a dining room from a TV show, movie, or place I've been in real life and I can't quite place it. I have a really hard time "creating" spaces so much of my locations are based on places I think I already know. And yesss I know the feeling very well- like nothing familiar is able to bring comfort in such a time :/

Had to look her up YES I CAN SEE IT!! Recently watched something with a *SEVERELY* Cecilia like lady in it but forgot to make note of it when it happened...

@Squirreltastic-Blue: Good eye! I tried to give the Wolframs a more updated, fancy/ergonomic model with the Harpers still having the old candlestick model. I know I've featured a box-style phone in the comic, at least once back in the prom chapter and I forget when/if anywhere else.

It depends on how often something comes up in the comic- phones I tend to be good on because they've come up before so I have a lot of references already built up, Eddie's car I usually draw from memory (which is probalby not a good thing lol), but then I usually need to look things up when I'm putting together a new environment. I just really hate designing objects for some reason, it seems like no matter how much I try to research styles/time periods/ etc none of it sticks and I usually wind up just taking bits & pieces from existing things.

@Dranxis: Thanks!! I was aiming for that kind of hectic feel, and then the fat silence at the end. One of those layouts I actually got pretty excited about!
