You're just making this up! You're just making all this shit up!!!

Over-lightened this page when adjusting levels so it looks blown out; oh well.

In the original first Loud Era chapter, there was actually a page where Uly is writing home to the family and admonishes their mom not to rent his bed out to hobos. I actually wrote this scene having completely forgotten about that old one. I mean, for good reason, because it was bad and dumb, but it's kind of funny how your brain cycles over on itself like that unintentionally....

Tony is superstitious!
I think it's pretty common to retread old ground when you're writing. I'm on my uh... 3rd(?) formal version of my comic Nick Polar Bear, and a lot of scenes I plan out either change to a point where they're unrecognizable or they contradict what I had in older drafts.
You got me wondering how things are for Uly. I feel it's been forever since I've seen him.
Or! Or! Maybe we'll see Tony get into boxing and he'll clobber Joseph just for yuks!

Oh Tony... XD I like how it went from being worried about Uly to an imaginary army officer really needing that bed ASAP.

And hah, it's funny how brains work like that! I think something like that happened to me too at some point, though I've cycled through so many drafts of CS by now it's hard to remember the details.

@Squirreltastic-Blue: I was thinking yesterday about the fact that I have a character who was intended to become a large-playing role, but recent changes I've made to plot arcs have pulled the rug out from under the character... I'll find a way to keep them a relevant contributor, but yeah, if you were to compare my plan years ago (or like even just months ago) to today, there'd be a big disparity there.

Lmao at the idea of Tony just beating up on Joseph, I feel like it'd be more in character the other way XP And it'll be a while before we get to more of Uly's sstory, though I'm hoping to get some flashbacks in there.

@Oly-RRR: LOL, my intent was the officer would be conveying "bad news" but I really like your interpretation better XD IN THIS PERIOD OF RATIONING WE NEED ALL YOUR SURPLUS BEDS

@mitchellbravo: I WAS wondering if that would be bad news or needing the bed but... IT COULD BE BOTH, RIGHT? (That would be just cruel.)
